KJERSTIN BOWMAN

Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska Kjerstin enrolled herself in several activities to fill up the long cloudy winters. At first she tried gymnastics and at twelve she found her affinity towards dance. Falling for the New Mexico landscape she graduated with her B.A in dance from U.N.M. Their well rounded program included Laban and Bartinieff Movement, Feldenkrais, and Pilates which brought her to the Pilates method through Nora Daniel. Her dream of dance as a healing art became manifest through this up and coming method. She was teaching before she had completed her training with Core Dynamics in 1999. Believing that a great teacher is always a student she completed her Massage Therapy Certificate in 2002. With in integrity to find several avenues of movement therapy she found Rodney Yee in New Mexico for his Teacher Training in yoga in 2003 and she is working to complete her prerequisites for the Anusara Yoga program as well.

LAUREN JONES

Lauren has been instructing Pilates since 2006 under the direction of Core Dynamics Pilates and Kjerstin Mix. She was first introduced to Pilates through a friend, and after her first class she was hooked. From that moment on she has made it her personal goal to learn all she can about Pilates and immerse herself into its practices. Through her years of experience and study she has gained the knowledge to give her clients a rigorous and enriching session. Her training has taught her to look at each individual and teach them according to their specific needs, based on abilities and limitations due to injury. Every class she teaches is full of laughter and fun. Lauren is also a musician. She is in a band and performs regularly throughout Southern California.

NICOLE VENTURA

Nicole started taking ballet when she was just 2 years old at her aunt's studio. She continued with many forms of dance until high school and then began pursuing dance again in her 20's for a fun form of exercise. This led her to take some yoga classes and then pilates. When she became a regular student at Center of Gravity, her teacher (Kjerstin) talked her into taking the teacher training courses.

Nicole studied for her pilates training through Core Dynamics and has been teaching for over 4 years. She thought that learning how to teach others would be a great compliment to her 11 year massage therapy practice. She loves helping people learn how to take care of their bodies and wholeheartedly believes in the underlying message that pilates teaches, which is balancing strength and fluidity for the body and mind.
